To facilitate your detoxification, arrange your bathroom and bedroom into a spa-like atmosphere.
But, be prepared! You may have a dull headache, feel grumpy, hungry and lethargic on Saturday.
During the weekend, you should avoid coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, non-essential drugs, salt and oil. Use only fresh herbs, lemon or lime juice to dress and season your food.
- Thick and large bath towels
- Aromatherapy candles
- Use your favorite essential oil in carrier oil for the bathwater
- Moisturizer, exfoliating scrub, face mask, and luffa brush
Clean your bedroom and put clean sheets on your bed so you will not be distracted to do housework. This is your weekend for relaxing and doing your body cleansing detoxification program
For food items, you will need a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, unwaxed lemons, herbal teas and filtered or bottled water, olive oil, a good selection of nuts and seeds, goat’s yogurt, brown rice, fresh herbs.

Here’s a sample menu for Saturday: Each morning take lemon juice in hot water one half hour before breakfast.
Breakfast – Fresh fruit or fruit smoothie (stay away from bananas as they are high in fast-releasing sugar and fat)
Mid morning break – Handful of dried or fresh fruit such as grapes and nutsLunch – Broiled goat cheese with broiled vegetable or steamed, brown rice and mixed green salad
Afternoon snack – Half and avocado or crudités (fresh veggies) with Hummus
Dinner - Home made vegetable soup and fresh fruit for dessert
Detoxing On All Levels
This program is one of light eating to give your digestive system a rest along with detoxification. The fruit juices will stimulate the cleansing organs in your body. If you have a juicer, all the better this is the time to use it. The massages and body scrubs will make you feel and look good.
It is also important to detox your mind with
meditation
and visualization exercises which will help to create inner harmony and balance.
A basic visualization exercise consists of breathing slowly while focusing on a calm and beautiful scene. Picture yourself basking in the beauty. It also helps to repeat a positive affirmation such as, "I am relaxed and happy as I cleanse my body." You can also visualize how clean your body will be after your body cleansing detoxification.
Remember to pamper yourself with foot, hand and scalp massages, face masks, in between meditating, relaxing, writing in your journal or reading.
Also, do some sort of exercise whether indoors or out. If you live near a park, take a long walk in the afternoon. The exercise will facilitate the cleansing and elimination process. Try not to drive as it is stressful. The idea is to be as relaxed as possible during the whole weekend.
