Color Therapy Meditation is good for Healing the Body.
Color therapy meditation is used to heal and unblock the chakras in the body. Healing with color was used throughout history by the Egyptians, Hebrews and Greeks.
she writes that color therapy gives a tremendous uplift to the immune system and lymphatic system, and is also an antidote to inflammations and infections. Referring to the same colors that is used in color meditation for each chakra here is what Kroeger writes:
Purple - (associated with the crown chakra) - It increases functions of the veins, lowers blood pressure, reduces the heart rate and also helps the kidneys. Reduces fever, makes you less sensitive to pain, induces deep relaxation and promotes deep sleep.
Indigo – (brow or 3rd eye chakra) – Stimulates the parathyroid, makes calcium available to the nervous system acting as a tranquilizer. Relieves pain, eases suffering caused by grief, excitement and uncertainty. It is a sedative
Blue – (base of throat, throat chakra) – It is a stimulant for the pineal gland, it builds vitality, reduces fever, removes inflammation, relieves burns, itching and is very soothing to the nervous system
Green – (heart chakra) – Stimulates the pituitary gland, influences muscle and tissue building, may dissolve blood clots, destroys bacteria, viruses and viroids, acts as a germicide and disinfectant.
Yellow – (solar plexus) – Stimulates motor nervous system, helps lymphatic system, stimulate bile production and increases pancreatic enzymes increasing bowel movements. Is used in melancholia because it functions as an equilibrator by balancing portal circulations.
Orange – (below navel lower abdomen, womb and spleen area) – Stimulates the lungs and thyroid, relieves cramps and muscular spasms, helps stomach glands to work properly, relieves flatulence, corrects bone softness and rickets and helps calcium to be absorbed properly.
Red – (root chakra, base of your spine) – Stimulates the nervous system which energizes sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch; stimulates and energizes the liver; makes you feel warm and energetic; it expels poisons from the system through your skin.
With this information in mind, start to feel the particular area of your body that is giving you problems and then visualize the color involved. Once you have done this, it is time to start your color therapy meditation.
The Color Therapy Meditation
Find a comfortable place, and position yourself either lying down or sitting. Close your eyes and start to breathe slowly and deeply from your diaphragm.
Breathe in through your nose and hold it for a couple of seconds and then let the air out slowly through your mouth. Continue breathing slowly and as you do so, make a mental scan of your body starting from your toes and working upwards feeling and letting go of any tense muscles in your body.
If you cannot feel the tension, tense each muscle group and then relax them breathing out the tension as you go over each area of your body. This is a method of releasing the stress in your body.
Visualize Color Entering Your Body
While doing the color therapy meditation, imagine the color that you are working with and breathe it into your lungs. As you do that slowly visualize the color filling and encircling the area that you are working on. Visualize the color filling the area completely. Once you can see the color clearly, visualize all the stress releasing from that area as you breathe out.
See the dark energy coming up and out of your lungs in the divine light out of your space. You don’t want to pollute the environment with this dark energy.
Keep repeating the slow and deep breathing until all the dense and greyish cloud from the area of your body is released. If there are other areas of your body that you feel you need to work on, do so in the same manner for as long as it takes.
When you have finished working on your body, breathe in divine white light and exhale any negative energy that may remain. Now, slowly open your eyes and feel the difference.
