Confused About Using My Pendulum

Hi,

I recently was given a pendulum that I wanted to buy for myself, as a gift.

Whilst I was doing a course in order to learn Tarot Card Readings, I was told by my teacher, who is a physic that I should not use a pendulum to ask about daily stuff, this confused me.

She said that my emotions are what gave me answers via the pendulum and that's why I would get my questions answered the way I wanted them to be.

This has actually dampened mt spirits as I thought that now I would be able to follow and be guided correctly by my pendulum.

Please help me out of my confusion.
