These are very important ancient constipation cures, but first you must stop taking any over-the-counter laxative. As with addictive drugs, laxatives must be increased over time in order to produce the needed effect. But this can cause your intestines to become unresponsive to drugs altogether.
Constipation can be a symptom of a more serious problem such as:
It can lead to hemorrhoids from straining and fissures caused by hard stool stretching the sphincter muscle.
If you suffer from chronic constipation, you need to make an appointment with your primary-care physician and to also take these cures seriously.
On the other hand, you could also be suffering from an abundance of parasites. Find out how you can eliminate parasites.
In the meantime, stop taking over the counter drugs while waiting for your appointment and increase your water intake, (read more on water below) add fiber and plenty of fruits and vegetables to your diet,
Right off the bat, I'm going to recommend Casgara Sagrada from Pure Herbs. If you take 2 of these tablets, be ready to run to the bathroom.
Also very importantly, you need to learn how to relax, especially your sphincter muscles. I suggest trying meditation.
Read benefits of drinking water daily. The cold water starts peristalsis which is the movement of the digestive system that propels matter through it. You can also also add honey to the water. First add a tablespoon of warm water to the honey to dissolve it, then add cold water.
If your bowel movement is dry, you really need to drink more water.
Also add plenty of fruits and vegetables to your diet. Early Swiss herbalists believed that figs were effective. Figs are a good natural medicine - if you have chronic constipation, eat 1 or 2 dried figs each morning on an empty stomach. To keep parasites at bay, soak 2 white figs overnight and eat with your cereal in the morning.
Directions: Gently bruise 6 cloves to release essential oils to 2 tablespoons of hot water in a saucepan and simmer for about a minute. Add cold water to cover and steep for an additional 15 minutes. Strain and drink. Prepare this each morning.
Directions: Each day prepare 8 ounces of rice and 12 walnuts. Soak the rice over night. The next morning, bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil, throw in the walnuts and simmer for a few minutes. Grind the walnuts in a blender, add the rice and rice water. Puree. Take out of the blender, add a pinch or 2 of maple syrup and some water. Simmer the preparation until the walnut-rice mixture becomes sticky.
Directions: For a watermelon fast to cleanse the body of waste materials, try eating small chunks of red watermelon all through the day.
Apparently, Chinese doctors also prescribed fermented cabbage, as one of their constipation cures saying that if you ate it twice a day, it would produce normal bowel movements in a month. (Sauerkraut, works for me immediately.)
Directions: Drain and reserve the liquid from a jar of sauerkraut (recommended Polish version). Add an equal amount of water to the liquid and drink it.
As a dish, I often fry onions and garlic mixed with sauerkraut and simmer with Polish sausage (Kilbassa). Hmmmm, yummy!
Caution. Do not use it if you are sensitive to salt or have high blood pressure.
If your diet is high in animal fats and refined sugars, this could be causing your constipation. I suggest you cut down these foods.
Have you had your thyroid gland checked? A sluggish thyroid can cause chronic constipation.
If you have a juicer, drinking beet juice regularly is one of the great constipation cures. The cellulose content helps to ease bowel movements.
Nutritionally, beets are loaded with vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C. Beet greens have a higher content of iron compared to spinach. They are also an excellent source of calcium, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, sodium and iron.
You can also add warm prune or apple juice with your breakfast along with a high-fiber cereal, or take 1 to 2 tablespoons equal amounts of bran, applesauce and prune juice daily.
For an excellent snack, take yogurt, Kefir, or buttermilk with grated apple and top with pumpkin seeds. This is a great probiotic for your digestive system because it adds "microflora" which contains glutamine.
I take 1 tablespoon of Kefir every morning, and my digestive system works very smoothly. As soon as I stop taking Kefir, I experience problems.
You can also try BIO-K Plus which has 50 billion active and efficient acidophilus. Actually I'm also taking BIO-K too. This is wonderful stuff, but before taking it you have to make sure that you are not longer constipated, otherwise this will aggravate your system.
Two of the most important constipation cures are:
1) exercise. Whatever exercise you like to do, it is important that you do it daily. Try walking around a block in your neighborhood, or biking, or taking the stairs instead of an elevator where you shop.
You will be amazed at how easily
2) walking will increase the
chances of a bowel movement. Walking massages all of the intestines
causing them to work instead of sitting all day long. Since I'm sitting for most of the day, I make sure to get up and walk around every hour or so.
If you are feeling bloated, to soothe your stomach take 1/2 teaspoon of ginger daily in your food, or grate 1/2 teaspoon of ginger root and steep in hot water for 10 minutes. Strain then drink it.
Note: You need to cleanse your intestines
I suggest Depurative Formula which is great for cleansing your digestive track, and Casgara Sagrada is an excellent formula for curing constipation. When you take this formula, you have to make sure you are near a bathroom.
