Why Drinking Water To
Lose Weight Isn't Enough

If you are drinking water to lose weight, that alone is not enough. You have to make sure you are getting your protein, vitamins and minerals. On the other hand, many toxins in your body are flushed out with water which helps you to lose weight...if you are wondering why you should drink water?"

Here's a simple explanation:

Since water constitutes over two thirds of our body, it is important to realize that it is a natural medicine that benefits our entire body. Coffee, tea, diet and health drinks are non-beneficial and do not replace the water that our body needs.

I do not recommend drinking water to lose weight, but to drink it because it is very important for your body.  Find out about blue water at importance of drinking water..

Read below in dehydration what happens if your body does not get enough water .

It is unfortunate that we take water for granted, and that we are not more vigilant about our natural lakes and rivers.

Because of hearing voices, I heard God say during one of our conversations,

Because of man’s greed, resources are being dwindled, the animal and fish populations are slowly being destroyed.

This is taken from Spiritual health.

I apologize for digressing, back to our topic – drinking water to lose weight - if you think about it, you will realize that the more water you drink, the more you are helping your body and internal organs such as your kidneys and liver to cleanse.

Did You Know that Dehydration
Can Lead To Disease?

Your body cannot function properly without enough water. To find out the importance of drinking water, read benefits of drinking water.

If your body does not have enough water, your body will become dehydrated which is a major factor in illnesses such as

  • arthritis,
  • asthma and
  • ulcers.

Dehydration can also be fatal. If you ignore your body’s signal for thirst, you are already dehydrated, and you make drinking water to lose weight more difficult.

Symptoms of dehydration:

  • Intense thirst
  • Hunger,
  • Dizziness,
  • Swollen tongue,
  •  Confusion,
  • Weakness,
  • Lack of energy,
  • Heart palpitations,
  • Inability to sweat,
  • Decreased and discolored urine (When urine is a deep yellow or amber color, it is a sign you need to hydrate.) and
  • Faintness.

Dehydration is often confused with other conditions, and can therefore become increasingly dangerous.

For example, an early sign of dehydration can be hunger. If you just ate and still feel hungry or sluggish, your body is not telling you it needs more food.

Rather, it is telling you that your cells and muscles need water. So next time you find yourself hungry, have a glass of water.

A lot of the time, the salt content in food will even further dehydration. The same applies if you're feeling dizzy, sluggish, confused or out of sorts. The simple solution may be a glass of water.

You need to start listening to your body and it’s needs. Actually, you should start carrying a water bottle with you at all times, especially during the hot summer months.

We have been told many times that we should drink about 6 to 8 eight ounce glasses of water daily.

I believe that we need to listen to our body’s thirst signal. If your mouth and lips are already dry, you are dehydrated and need water immediately.

When you drink water daily, you also need to take your body size into consideration. Eight 8-ounce glasses of water or 2 quarts is not enough for the over-weight person. A larger body has a greater metabolic load which means that he or she will need more water to perform the same functions as a thinner person.

A heavier person will need about one additional glass of water for every 25 pounds of weight.

In drinking water to lose weight, Dr. Donald S. Robertson suggests that one should drink:

  • 1 quart of water (that's 4 glasses) over approximately 30 minutes in the morning,
  • 1 quart at noon and
  • 1 quart between five and six o’clock.

The Effects Of Water On Our Body

Rather than trying to follow some quick fix diet, drinking water to lose weight is better for you. You do not have to worry about any warning labels on bottled water, especially if you drink filtered water.

If you would like to try a week end home-made spa, read body cleansing detoxification, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and then consider drinking water to lose weight.

Water is nature’s ideal 'diet drug'. Water’s side effects are amazing, it:

  • flushes out excess waste
  • helps to relieve constipation, read causes of constipation.
  • keeps up the muscles’ ability to contract, and maintains muscle tone
  • alleviates fluid retention
  • suppresses your appetite by filling up your stomach
  • helps the body metabolize stored fat
  • helps to prevent skin from sagging after weight loss by filling out the cells

All weight-loss programs are based on reduced caloric intake and increased metabolic rate, both of which are naturally achieved with an increased intake of clean, healthy water.

Water is also the key ingredient to keep the skin moist, supple and resilient. Drinking water is the best natural anti-aging medicine. The best way to moisturize is from the inside. Drinking more water will result in softer, healthier, younger-looking skin.

I know it's difficult to drink 4 glasses at a time, three times daily. So I suggest for starters, try: drinking 2 glasses of water in the morning, 2 glasses before lunch and 2 glasses an hour before bedtime. I would like to lose 20 pounds so I'm ready to do this. Water is the key ingredient for healthier skin and natural weight loss.
