I know teens don’t like eating breakfast especially the girls. You think that skipping meals will help you to lose weight. Wrong. Skipping breakfast is the worse thing you can do!

Not only does it lead to lethargy and body weakness, it causes you to snack on easy-to-get high calories foods such as chips, chocolate bars, peanuts, muffins, doughnuts and other fatty snacks.

  • french fries
  • chips
  • fried non-fish seafood
  • soda and other fruit drinks (contain enormous amounts of sugar)

When you discover how many calories and toxins are in these foods at worst foods, you will stop eating them immediately.

All processed food contains inflammatory omega-6 oils (soybean oil, corn oil, etc) high fructose corn syrup, refined sugars, chemical additives plus wheat which as been genetically manufactured (GMO) are the worst for putting on fat. This is why many people are now wheat sensitive.

In easy weight loss for teens, just because it’s easy to get doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

Unless they have fresh garden salads, my personal policy is to stay away from any food that sits in a vending machine or in a can. The food has been highly processed so there’s little to no nutritional value left. What nutrition do you get from a Reese bar?

Porridge with dried fruit - Oats and dried fruit provide slow-release energy during the day as well as warming you up on a cold morning. 

If you are wheat sensitive, there are wheat and gluten-free oats available. I've just discovered that I'm wheat and gluten sensitive.  Eating granola is a great teen weight loss tip, and it's great for snacking.

  • 3 cups oats or (gluten free oats)
  • 1/2 cup each of sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans (broken), walnuts
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1/3 cup each of honey, maple syrup, almond or any nut butter
  • 1 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 cup dried fruit of choice

Directions: Preheat oven at 250 degrees F/120C

  1. In a large bowl, well  mix oats, nuts, seeds and coconut together. Do not add dried fruit till after done baking.
  2. In a small pan mix oil, honey, maple syrup  and almond butter. Melt over low heat until well combined.
  3. Pour liquid over dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Pour entire mixture into a large cookie pan and gently spread about. Do not compress the mixture, otherwise it will be one solid mass.
  5. Put in center of oven for 2 hours, after first 30 minutes, take mix out of oven and gently stir. Put back in oven for remaining 90 minutes.
  6. Once it's done, take pan out of oven and wait till the granola mix is completely cooled. Then put in your dried fruit of choice, and put mix in an air tight container for storage.

Note: Use other ingredients such as cranberries, sesame seeds, chia soy nuts, hemp seeds or any other dried fruit and seed combination

Typical nutrition per 1/4 cup (30 g): 170 calories, 10g total fat, 3g saturated fat, 0g trans fat, 18g carbohydrate, 3g fiber, 9g sugar, 4g protein, 3mg sodium

Cereal (wheat and sugar free) and low fat milk – also low fat muesli with no added salt or sugars.

Poached egg on 7 or 9 or 16 grain bread - eggs are full of nutrients and only contain 75 calories each if boiled or poached. Wholegrain bread (try is much better for you than white, if you're not wheat-sensitive.

Fruit and low fat yogurt - fresh fruit is a good way to provide yourself with slow- release energy throughout the morning and probiotic yogurt eases digestion.

Those who skip breakfast tend to eat more high fat snacks. Also, don't eat while watching television. 

Throw into your school bag some fresh fruit such as apples or pears or carrots or celery sticks for snacking when hunger strikes

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But if you can’t eat early in the morning, the fresh fruit in your bag will help stave off hunger pains.
