There are different techniques to use for grounding oneself.
One technique that I recommend involves visualization.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself as your favorite tree or flower. Spread your arms out horizontally from your sides, palms facing upward.
Now imagine a bright white light coming through your crown chakra at the top of your head just as the sun shines on all flowers and trees, and flows through the stem or trunk (your body) down through the roots (soles of your feet) into the ground.
When you have finished the exercise, try an lift one foot at a time. Both of your feet will feel very heavy, then you know you are grounded.
