Hello, Can You Hear Me?
I have had a very peculiar weekend. It started with my cat weaving in and out of imaginary legs, looking up and meowing. Of course I couldn't see anyone, but it appeared that he could.
For a while now I have had a bedside lamp that flashes on and off regardless of the fact we have checked the socket and changed the bulb. It seems daft, but I speak to it and it seems to flash in response. For example, it can be on and not flashed for a while, but if I ask, "Are you there?" It will flash.
Anyway last night I came up to bed early leaving my children downstairs with their grandfather. I turned my lamp on which immediately started flashing, so I just said, "Hello there."
Then took my water glass through to the bathroom to refill it and brush my teeth. I filled my glass and sat it on the back of the sink. It sat there fine while I brushed my teeth, but just as I was about to rinse, it shot off the sink and smashed at my feet.
I was startled, but presumed it must of somehow slipped. I went downstairs and got another. I had been asleep a good while when I heard my 6 year old son come in and get in bed beside me. He woke me up and said, "Mummy, who's that talking in here?"
I couldn't hear anything and told him to lie down and go to sleep. He just settled down and I closed my eyes when I heard, right in my ear a woman's voice say, "Hello?"
It was said like a question, as if there was anyone there. My eyes shot open and my son sat upright in bed. He said, "Mummy did you hear that?"
I asked him what he heard, and he said, "A lady said hello."
This was too much of a coincidence surely. I asked him where he thought the voice came from and he said, "Right here in the bed room."
Who could this be or are we both somehow imaging things. I just have a gut instinct that this was someone trying to get my attention.
