Protection

My best friend had a pedulum. She didn't use it often, so she offered it to me to use while I was having some issues. For my birthday, she gave it to me having decided that my attachment to it was far greater than hers.

Now, 5 months later, I am up against a situtation I have no contol over and I need as much spiritual proctection as I can. How can I know that I can trust my pedulum to be there to protect me?
