How Sage Herb Is Used
For More Than Cooking

Sage herb a favorite for flavoring in soups and sauces. I also use it in salads. There is a long history of medicinal besides culinary uses for this Old English herb.

Salvia officinalis also known as common sage or garden sage has numerous common names. Some of the best known include sage, golden sage, kitchen sage, true sage, and culinary sage.

It is a perennial, evergreen sub-shrub, with woody stems, grayish leaves, and blue to purplish flowers. It is a member of the lamiaceae family  and is native to the Mediterranean region.  Besides its long history of use, in modern times it is used as an ornamental garden plant.

Since ancient times, sage has been used for warding off evil, snakebites and increasing women's fertility.

Sage  Herb Has Nine More Uses

  • sage will preserve your natural hair color if taken externally as a rinse and internally will also prevent hair loss if the root is not destroyed

  • gets rid of dandruff with sage extract messaged into the scalp

  • sage herb can also be used to regulate sexual activity, it calms an excessive desire and increases weak responses. If you are taking sage for hair loss, you may enjoy this desired response.
