Do You Have Sinus Problems?

Do you have these sinus problems - a constantly dripping nose, or stuffy nose or perhaps loss of smell and taste?

If it's chronic, these problems are known as sinusitis, and I too suffer from this. In my case, it is caused by certain foods that I love.

The causes of sinusitis can be viral, bacterial or even by allergies and can also be caused by air pollution. In more serious cases, nasal polyps which is a deviation of the nasal wall or a dental abscess could also be causing sinus problems.

If you have these one or more of these symptoms, you may have chronic sinus problems:

  • hoarseness, and difficulty hearing
  • dizziness, fever, great fatigue, headaches
  • flow of secretion at the back of the throat
  • pressure under the eyes and in the forehead
  • secretions which are whitish, yellowish, greenish and bad breath

Here are some of the chronic causes of sinus problems:

  • Diet. Perhaps you are eating too many dairy products.
  • Sensitivity to your environment, or to certain products such as wool or synthetics.
  • Irritants such as tobacco, or construction materials such as
  • Allergies such as wheat.
  • Dental infection.
  • Fungal infection such as yeast (Candida Albicans).
  • Constant Colds and symptoms of influenza.

Incompletely digested food that forms irritants causes the body to produce mucous to prevent irritation.

Improper bowel management, less than one to three bowel movements per day, causes the body to use other emergency exits such as the sinuses to expel wastes.

It is highly recommended to use a bowel maintenance program with a digest aid such as:

  • Milk Thistle,
  • D.-W,
  • L.G.-W or

What You Can Do For Sinus Problems

You need to look at your diet and be aware of your symptoms after eating particular foods. For example if you are sensitive to dairy products, stop eating them for a week to 10 days, then slowly integrate each product into your diet to find out which one is causing your problems. Dairy products such as milk is known to cause mucous.

Also avoid certain foods such as:

  • bananas
  • avocados
  • cucumber
  • cantaloupe
  • honeydew melon
  • peanuts, nuts
  • pecans
  • peanut butter
  • wheat and oats and foods made with these products: breads, pasta, granola, diet or energy bars
  • white flour
  • sugar
  • alcohol
  • tobacco
