Practicing Spiritual Meditation

One thing to remember before you start your spiritual meditation, if you need some guidance and answers, is to formulate your question(s) for your guide, your higher self or the Higher Power.

Choose you time for this practice where you will be relaxed and focused. If you decide that you do not have a lot of time for a 15 to 20 minute meditation. Try the one minute meditation . Everyone has time for this, and you can do it many times a day. Another type of meditation that you can try is mindful meditation

You need to be in a place of silence without outside interference. Unplug your phone. This sacred space foryour meditation should be clean and devoid of work and other distractions in order for you to be able to concentrate on vacating your mind of all unnecessary thoughts.

Get comfortable either sitting or lying down. I prefer lying down as it is more comfortable for me.

You can burn a candle or incense and even play meditation music softly in the background. Remember that this is your sacred place, a place to start your spiritual development. The more you practice meditation, the easier it becomes.

Before you start, you can also visualize yourself surrounded by bright and healing light from Source.

To help you with your spiritual meditation, it is important to focus your attention on your breathing. Try to breathe slowly from your diaphragm. Breathe slowly from your nose, filling your diaphragm, hold it for a couple of seconds, then let the air out slowly from your mouth.

Once your breathing becomes regulated and your body starts relaxing, visualize a place where you feel very happy and safe. It could be by the ocean, or in the woods, on a mountain top or even in your garden.

Your Serene and Peaceful Place

When you have visualized your
special place, add as many details
as possible using all of your senses.

Feel the wind or sun or water on
your skin, smell the salt water by
the ocean or the flowers in your
garden, hear birds singing or waves
of the ocean lapping on the shore,
or if you are in the woods a gushing
brook in the place you feel safe.

Once you are there in your sacred place, take a minute to make your place as real and as beautiful as possible. Keep breathing deeply and fully relax and enjoy all the beauty and peace surrounding you. And remember your feelings during your meditation that will help you to get there sooner each time.

Visualization Works

Once you are relaxed and peaceful, ask questions or visualize whatever it is that you would like to have in your life. But remember that it takes patience before you will receive the answer. Be open for it will not come in the way that you expect.

You can also ask for a sign that he/she is present by blowing on your cheek or by touching a certain section of your body to let you know that whoever you are calling on is there.

When you start doing meditation regularly, try and take some time during your busy schedule each day for yourself, to give your mind and body a mini vacation by remembering your special place and the feelings you had during your spiritual meditations

It is important to do this regularly and you will notice a difference in your health, your energy level and your general well being.

Another meditation you can try for healing a specific area of your body is the color therapy meditation
