Storing and Caring of Crystal Pendulum

Can you tell me whats the best way to store and care for my crystal Pendulum and chart? I've read only in one place to store my crystal in a wooden box with cotton, pine leaves and twigs....to create a nest for the crystal.

Should you store both the crystal and chart together?

Any assistants you can give me would be wonderful. I've spent many many hrs on the computer to find this answer.
