When Using The Pendulum, How Can I Receive The Truth

When I use my pendulum, I feel like I might not want to hear the truth, which can result in it standing still.

How can I practice to clear my mind so that I will receive the truth and not stop the pendulum from giving me the best answers?

I know I can sometimes feel spirits, but how does one know what spirits are there which may prevent the truth from coming forth?

When I am dowsing, I especially feel that the spirits try and prevent me from feeling grounded and confident.

Can you suggest something I can say while dowsing?
